Migrating to Bouchet? We Are Here to Help.

The YCRC is transitioning computing and storage resources from the Yale West Campus Data Center to the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC). The Bouchet cluster, Yale’s first cluster hosted at MGHPCC, is the successor to both Grace and McCleary, with HPC infrastructure refreshes deployed at MGHPCC going forward.

Grace and McCleary decommission

In 2026, we are decommissioning Grace and non-YCGA portions of McCleary. During this phased migration, we will be fully decommissioning Grace as a standalone cluster, and the McCleary cluster will be downsized to support exclusively YCGA-affiliated workloads. Newer nodes from Grace and McCleary, and some of the attached storage, will be moved to MGHPCC and added to Bouchet as additional capacity.

For detailed information about this multiphased transition, please visit our Grace and McCleary decommission page.

Support for Users Migrating to Bouchet

Users moving their workloads from Grace or McCleary may benefit from our recorded training sessions Intro to Bouchet and Data Transfers with Globus.

In addition to our twice-weekly virtual Office Hours held on Wednesdays and Thursdays (check our calendar for dates and zoom information), the YCRC Research Support team will be available every week in March for in-person Bouchet Migration Support Office Hours, offering hands-on support.

Stop by our office at 160 St Ronan Street— no registration required.
