Computational Research Support Analyst 

We are seeking a full-time Computational Research Support Analyst to join the Center’s interdisciplinary Research Support group to support Yale’s Science Research Software Core (SRSC), including more than 50 specialized and widely used applications in the physical sciences and engineering — including Comsol, Ansys, Autodesk, and Mathematica. 

The analyst’s responsibilities will include: 

  • Advising researchers on tool selection and applicability to their scientific problems; 
  • Advising the YCRC on adopting new software tools; managing vendor relationships; 
  • Installing, distributing, and tracking versions of SRSC software packages; 
  • Supporting software packages on YCRC’s HPC clusters, where applicable 
  • Troubleshooting installation and usage problems 
  • Creating and maintaining user documentation 
  • Conducting outreach to Yale’s research community
