Kaylea Nelson is the Director of Arts & Sciences Research Computing at the Yale Center for Research Computing, which supports the advanced computing needs of Yale’s research community. She leads the research computing facilitation team at the YCRC and ensures the YCRC meets the needs of university researchers in the physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Kaylea’s own research background is in computational cosmology, examining the effects of mergers and dynamical states on galaxy clusters. Beyond Yale, Kaylea is a co-program manager for the NSF-funded CAREERS Cyberteam, a co-chair of the Women in HPC Northeast Chapter, and an active participant in CaRCC, Campus Champions, and CASC.
