Developing Biomarkers for Better Patient Care

The Program of Applied Translational Research (PATR) is dedicated to the process of applying discoveries generated in the laboratory and in preclinical experiments, to the development of clinical studies, and to the design of clinical trials. As a critical component of this mission, the Program also seeks to conduct translational research to advance the understanding of novel biomarkers so as to enhance their clinical utility in complex diseases.

Yale Systems Biology Institute Opening

The Yale Systems Biology Institute focuses on complex interactions in biological systems and characterizes the organizational principles that unite living systems. One focal area of particular relevance to Yale researchers involves dynamic gene regulatory networks, which provide a springboard for the integration of mathematical theory and bioinformatics. The creation of a Systems Biology Institute at the YWC provides a generative focus for the research interests of faculty in the physical and biological sciences, and for topics ranging from molecules to whole organisms.

Announcing the Open Science Grid User School 2015

If you could access thousands, maybe millions of hours of computing, how would it transform your research? What discoveries might you make? We are looking for students to apply for and attend the Open Science Grid (OSG) User School 2015, where they will learn to use high throughput computing (HTC) to harness vast amounts of computing power for research. The School takes place 27-31 July at the beautiful University of Wisconsin in Madison.
