The Yale Center for Research Computing hosts Linux Clusters Institute Intermediate Workshop

August 15, 2018

The Yale Center for Research Computing welcomed approximately 60 High Performance Computing Administrators from around the country and beyond to the Yale campus while they attended a Linux Clusters Institute intermediate workshop, hosted at the YCRC Auditorium.   Attendees from as far away as San Diego, Oregon and even Ecuador learned about cutting edge technologies in support of High Performance Computing.    In depth sessions on file systems, high performance networks and parallel job schedulers were presented by instructors from around the country including our very own Charles Wright, Yale HPC Administrator and certified Red Hat Architect as well as Tyler Trafford, also a Yale HPC Administrator.  It is notable that the talent we have on campus not only benefits the Yale research community, but also benefits the entire Research Computing community in the Americas.  While Charles and Tyler were instructors, nearly everyone in the YCRC helped support the workshop and comments from attendees indicate it has been wonderfully successful.
