Bouchet HPC Cluster Now in Production

The new Bouchet Cluster, the YCRC’s first installation at Massachusetts High Performance Computing Center is now available for production computing.

Bouchet remains restricted to tightly coupled parallel workflows (like those using the “mpi” partition on Grace).  General purpose compute and GPU-enabled nodes will be available on Bouchet later this spring, at which point the cluster will be available to all Yale researchers for computational work involving low-risk data.  An additional announcement will be sent at that time.

Bouchet is set up slightly differently from our other clusters and certain utilities (such as Open OnDemand and Globus) are not yet available, so we strongly encourage you to read the Bouchet documentation page and the Getting Started Guide

We give our thanks to the researchers who took part in our beta testing over the last couple months, helping us ensure the cluster is ready for the community.

Dr. Edward Alexander Bouchet, a native of New Haven, Connecticut, was the first African-American to earn a PhD in the United States from Yale University in 1876.
