This workshop provides a hands-on introduction to MPI programming. Both days are compact, to accommodate multiple time zones, but packed with useful information and lab exercises. Working knowledge of either C or Fortran required.

This workshop is a two-hour introductory course on using Yale’s High Performance Computing (HPC) resources. This course is taught by YCRC research support staff and covers the basics:
- Accessing the HPC clusters
- Running batch jobs
- Accessing and managing files
- Basic parallel computing
This workshop will introduce students to performing Geocomputation analysis using a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster with Slurm. Multicore computation can be also used in the context of Geocomputation. Therefore, using simple Bash scripts we will show four main ways to tile an image, perform a filter operation, and reassemble the image.
This workshop follows our Intro to HPC workshop, expanding on parallelism and efficiency considerations. The workshop will review compute cluster architecture and proper job allocation. It will also cover a number of ways to make use of parallelism to improve performance of programs running on the cluster.
