R for Novices

Previously recorded session (March 2020)

This three-hour workshop will introduce the R language and RStudio environment for data analysis, and how to use it on our clusters. Topics will include:

Grace Maintenance Update

We have had to extend the Grace maintenance period due to issues with the upgraded network configuration. YCRC staff have been working continuously to investigate and resolve these issues and we are planning to make the cluster available again by midday tomorrow, Friday February 7. The Loomis storage will remain unavailable on Farnam until that time.

Grace Maintenance Extended

Due to issues with the upgraded network configuration and ongoing discussions with vendors, we are continuing to work on the Grace cluster which means that we need to extend the maintenance period. A further email notification will be sent when the maintenance has been completed and the cluster is available. The Loomis storage will remain unavailable on Farnam.

Understanding the effect of changing resource availability on soil microbial communities

Christopher (Chris) Beltz is a Ph.D. candidate in Forestry & Environmental Studies at Yale. His research explores the interactions between the carbon and nitrogen cycles in the semi-arid environments of the western United States. Understanding the interplay between these two major nutrient cycles is critical to understanding the major drivers of ecosystem structure and ecosystem function in the drylands across the globe. Chris is particularly interested in structure-function relationships and how these may be altered under changing resource availability.
