Paul Gluhosky

Paul started at Yale in 1984 doing Atmospheric Research with Prof Ron Smith. During the next 15 years he participated in several Meteorological field experiments: GALE, ERICA, CIPP, CIPP94 and SVWake95. In 1998 he took a position as lead Linux System Administrator in the ITS Workstation Support group. In 1998 Paul became the Manager and changed the group name to ITS Linux Support. Several new services were first deployed by ITS Linux Support: support ticketing system (Resource Tracker), system monitoring and alerting (Big Brother), Self-Serve VM service (research.yale.edu) and site-wide license server (license.yale.edu). The High Performance Computing group was formed in 2007 by Paul and included one staff member. The High Performance Computing group was changed to the Yale Center for Research Computing (YCRC) and is now under the Executive Director of the YCRC, Kiran Keshav. Paul is now the Operations Manager for the YCRC and is responsible for supporting the High Performance Computing operational services.
