Manager, High Performance Computing Operations

Paul started at Yale in 1984 doing Atmospheric Research with Prof Ron Smith.   During the next 15 years, he participated in several Meteorological field experiments: GALE, ERICA, CIPP, CIPP94, and SVWake95.  In 1998, he was the lead Linux system administrator for the ITS Workstation Support group.   In 1998, Paul became the group manager and changed its name to ITS Linux Support.  Several new services were first deployed by ITS Linux Support: a support ticketing system (Resource Tracker), system monitoring and alerting (Big Brother), Self-Serve VM service (research.yale.edu), and site-wide license server (license.yale.edu).   The High Performance Computing group was formed in 2007 by Paul and included one staff member.   The High Performance Computing group was changed to the Yale Center for Research Computing (YCRC).  Paul is now the Operations Manager for the YCRC and is responsible for supporting the High Performance Computing operational services.
